The Dublin Gospel Choir will be on hand to help raise funds for Liams Lodge for Ecocem on Thursday May 29th. Organised by Ecocem, the world’s most sustainable building material, the concert in Dublin’s Charlemont Hilton Hotel is due to offer a great musical experience to concert goers who can sample a musical atmosphere before and after the event.
Liam’s Lodge is a Kerry based charity which is part of the Saoirse Foundation.
Liam’s Lodge is Ireland’s first respite centre for children with rare and genetic diseases and is supported by Ecocem as their charity of the year. The charity is named after Liam Heffernan, son of Tony and Mary Heffernan, tragically lost his battle with Batten Disease on May 4th this year. His inspirational battle against Battens Disease with his sister Saoirse, who also passed away from this disease in 2011, has led their parents to the establishment of the Saoirse Foundation which is dedicated to making positive life impacts for sick children all over Ireland.
Doors open for the concert at 6pm. Patron of Liams Lodge Miriam O Callaghan will be attending and introducing the event and the Paul Frost Jazz Quartet will play afterwards to provide dancing for conert goers. Tickets include a drinks reception before the concert starts at 7pm.
Tickets are only €22.50 from Tickets.ie and there are some still available.
‘Thursday evening’s charity concert will be exceptional: we have an amazing location beside the canal in Ranelagh, amazing music from the Dublin Gospel Choir and it’s all in support of two great charities, Liam’s Lodge and Heart Children Ireland. Ecocem are delighted to be covering all the costs so that 100% of all the money raised will go straight to the charities. Both Liam’s Lodge and Heart Children Ireland are small charities that rely solely on donations and hard work to achieve their goals – and what they have achieved to date is truly amazing. You can find out more at the dedicated stands each organisation will have at the Hilton on Thursday. Come for the tunes and stay for a drink, basking in the good deeds that you are doing for these two charities!’, said Conor O’Riain, Managing Director, Ecocem Ireland
Tony Heffernan, founder of Liams Lodge added: “We are delighted that Ecocem have decided to host such a lovely event and dedicated the funds raised to Liams Lodge. Liams Lodge will hold its door open to families with children with all kinds of genetic and rare disorders. These types of conditions effect between 8- 10% of the Irish Population and this centre will offer respite for families from all over Ireland. This event will not only highlight the cause but also will give vital funds to the charity.”
All money raised on the night and given to Liams Lodge will go directly into the Liams Lodge development fund. Donations can be made if desired to Liams Lodge by texting DINO to 50300
